I recently saw in social media (credit to NewstalkZB), a post sharing the following memes regarding our world's political and social models.
I thought "quite a lot of it is actually true!", but is an incomplete reality, there is something missing, something deeper, crucial, fundamental.
There's a saying based on Psalm 90:14 that goes:
And apropos, I was thinking recently when seeing the above division in world socio-economic politics, including the complete spectrum with all its nuances and variants under the banner of "social justice" and this came to mind, I found the missing piece!:
“Give me a capitalism without the greed, the excess, the selfishness, the disregard, the contempt for the human being, his/her value. Perhaps then it would no longer be capitalism...
Give me a socialism/communism without the hate, the envy, the violence, the hypocrisy, the contempt for the human being, his/her value. Perhaps then it would no longer be socialism...”
And it seems very true to me, at the end of the day, the only thing left once the acquired ideological layers are removed, at the core is:
The Human Being, the Soul;
And the soul is corruptible and sinful.
Capitalism, socialism, liberalism, conservatism, fascism, marxism, any 'ism' of the right, left or centre are powerless to correct it, to guide it, to direct it towards the good and for the good.
That is the story of humanity, a history with a long legacy of injustice, tyranny, oppression, wars, horrors and blood-shedding that proves it.
All 'ISMS', including humanISM seek to enslave man one way or another...
Sin entered the soul in the Garden of Eden and remains there ever since.
»Remove far from me falsehood and lying;
give me neither poverty nor riches;
feed me with the food that I need,
or I shall be full, and deny you,
and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’
or I shall be poor, and steal,
and profane the name of my God.»
(Proverbs 30:8-9)
Let us think for a moment:
Who really is in control and has the power to overcome life and death?
Who is capable to change us, our society and the wider world?
On Whom real hope lies?
Who ultimately is able to give us lives that transcend the temporary, the political battles, the Liberator of the soul?
»But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in You» (Psalm 39:7)
Only God can deal with it because He created it, He created us to his image.
Only God can purify the soul, change us for the better, for our own good and give us eternal life.
»I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing» (John 15:5)
If we go to Him...
»For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls» (1 Peter 2:25)
There will come a time, now clearly on the horizon as we see the fallen state of the world when Jesus will return and establish his Millennial Kingdom after the horrendous 7 year tribulation.
When governments and authority will be under His own:
»For a child has been born for us, a son given to us;
authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named
Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
His authority shall grow continually, and there shall be endless peace
for the throne of David and his kingdom.
He will establish and uphold it with justice and with righteousness
from this time onwards and for evermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this»
(Isaiah 9:6-7)
»Then I saw thrones, and those seated on them were given authority to judge.
I also saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony to Jesus and for the word of God.
They had not worshipped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands.
They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.)
This is the first resurrection.
Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection.
Over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.»
(Revelation 20:4-6)
How I long and look forward to living and working under Lord Yeshua's perfect, righteous, fair, peaceful, sustainable and just life-work system.
